Songs To Die To

On a weathered farm in rural Nova Scotia, Kim, once an adventurous traveller, is now a full-time caretaker for her mother Deedee, who is dying of ALS. Kim runs the household on order and routine, putting her mother first and neglecting herself. When Deedee receives approval for Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) in just ten days’ time, Claire, Kim’s charismatic sister returns home and Kim’s carefully constructed world unravels. The sisters are at odds about everything, including Deedee’s decision, and while Claire attempts to change Deedee’s mind Kim self-destructs, starting an affair with the very person who approved her mother’s MAiD application. But when her affair almost results in a death that none of them are prepared for, Kim must find a way to reconcile with her family—and most importantly with herself.
